VOLUNTEERING

Countryside Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help support our team with tasks ranging from grass cutting, woodland tree work to allotment maintenance and wood processing.

The role will include:

  • Engaging and assisting team members to complete activities

  • Assisting in the smooth running of each session

  • Promoting positive shared communication between team members

  • Helping to educate team members about nature/ the environment

  • Sharing skills and expertise with others

  • Assisting with set up, tidying away and cleaning before and after each session.

 

What you will need:

  • An interest in outdoor work of some kind

  • An understanding of working with adults with learning difficulties

  • A willingness to learn new skills

  • Ability to listen and learn from others

  • Good communication skills to liaise with staff and team members

  • To be able to report any concerns or issues to staff

  • To monitor team wellbeing and engagement with tasks

  • To be able to support team members to wear the correct protective equipment and stay safe

  • An understanding of basic health and safety/ safeguarding / confidentiality/equality guidance

  • To demonstrate initiative and be able to adapt to new situations.

Wellbeing Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers who can support our team members and the wellbeing activities we deliver.

 

This may include:

  • Engaging and assisting team members to complete activities

  • Leading some chosen sessions with support from staff

  • Assisting in the smooth running of each session

  • Promoting positive shared communication between team members

  • Help to educate team members about nature/ the environment

  • Share skills and expertise with others

  • Contribute ideas for new nature-based activities

  • Assist with set up, tidying away and cleaning before and after each session.

 

What you will need:

 

  • Good communication skills to liaise with staff and team members

  • To be able to report any concerns or issues to staff

  • To monitor team wellbeing and engagement with tasks

  • To be able to support team members to wear the correct protective equipment and stay safe

  • Understanding of basic health and safety/ safeguarding/ confidentiality/equality guidance

  • To demonstrate initiative and be able to adapt to new situations.

Training and support will be provided and reasonable expenses will be paid.
